Third Thursdays at the Connecticut State Library, Vietnam War Veteran Dennis Mannion discusses The Battle of Khe Sanh

Dennis Mannion served on Hill 861 as an Artillery Forward Observer Vietnam War: the battle for Khe Sanh. Over the course of his time in Vietnam, Mannion was injured twice. One time, a mortar shell landed only a few feet from him, nearly taking his life. The metal from the mortar shredded his towel, tearing it to pieces; an indication of what the shrapnel could have done to his body. The brutality of the battle was as clear and unmistakable. “If you get killed, you just get killed.” Mannion will share his experience of fighting in that epic battle that took place during the Vietnam War.
