Remembering World War One: Sharing History/Preserving Memories digitization event on September 29, 2015, From 6:30-8:00 PM

September 29, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Hartford) The Connecticut State Library is excited to announce the first of our fall Remembering World War One: Sharing History/Preserving Memories digitization events. The first event will be held September 29, 2015 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Howard Whittemore Memorial Library in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Appointments are now being accepted for this event. You can learn more at http://bit.ly/WWINPL

These events are being held in cooperation with our local partners who recognize the value in the history and stories held in their communities. We are inviting participants to bring in their World War One photos, medals, letters and other keepsakes so that representatives from the Connecticut State Library can scan the objects and add the digital images to the Connecticut Digital Archive where we will preserve the images for future generations. The digital images we create at these events will help to document Connecticut’s role in the war both at home and abroad and will be made available at no cost to the public. For more information about eligible items please see http://ctinworldwar1.org/about/get-involved/submission-guidelines/.
