Commemorating the 102nd Connecticut Infantry Battle of Seicheprey, April 20, 1918

“Remembering Seicheprey and the Boys from Connecticut’s 102nd Infantry”

Early in the morning of 20 April 1918, 3,000 German storm troopers attacked the town of Seicheprey, engaging soldiers of the 102nd Regiment in the first major military action undertaken by American troops in World War I. 81 Connecticut soldiers were Killed in Action as the 102nd Regiment repulsed the German attack. The memory of these Connecticut soldiers’ bravery and sacrifice has faded in the 100 years since the action at Seicheprey occurred.
