Comic Books from the Federal Government

The Federal Government has been using comic books for years, recognizing they reach audiences often missed by other publications.

The Connecticut State Library has many of the listed publications in our collection.

Several places have listed the comics, and often link to online versions. Here are just a few:

  • Government Comics from University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Love Library digital collection. “The Government Comics Collection consists of comic books, posters, and comics-related reports and documents, produced by various world governments and agencies. While a large portion of these materials reflects our institutional membership in the U.S. Federal Depository Library Program, materials from the EEU, Canada, and other nations are also included.”
  • Holy Social Marketing, Uncle Sam! Government Issued Comics. Research guide from University of Iowa Libraries.
  • Federal Government Comic Books – listing from Chattanooga Public Library
