A preliminary version of “Connecticut’s Public Libraries, a Statistical Profile, July 2014 to June 2015” is now available for download. Find here a Profile organized by Library and a Profile Addendum organized by Town. These preliminary documents are made available for libraries looking for the new FY2015 data ASAP. Any corrections that might be necessary should be provided before the official version of the Profile is released in January.
For those interested, here are some items of note from the FY2015 statewide public library statistics:
- Total Circulation fell for the fifth straight year and is now at its lowest level since 2001. Per capita circulation is at its lowest level since 1996.
- Circulation of electronic materials rose from 3.4% of total circulation to 4.7%.
- Program attendance continues to climb, as does the number of internet computers, the average number of hours open, and the number of filled ILLs. ILLs increased dramatically in FY2015 .
- 82% of libraries reported some increase in their municipal appropriation last year.
